October is breast cancer awareness month and as such we are going to fundraise for the National Breast Cancer Foundation with our PAIRs challenge.
Our PAIRs challenge, which stands for Partner Another Interested Runner, has been designed to give you accountability by partnering with another runner to complete a run, either virtually or in person. We are also hoping you will make some new running friends (virtual or local) and encourage you to run with existing running buddies.
Each runner will receive a Mum Runner PAIRs wristband so if you do want to meet local runners you can easily identify yourself as part of the challenge.
For every PAIR we match up during October (virtual or in person) we will donate $1 to the NBCF, in addition to the usual $5 contribution from our entry fee (to a maximum of 20 runs for the month per entrant).
Each runner is encouraged to do some of their own fundraising for the NBCF by joining our Mum Runner PAIRs team in the Zero Hero challenge. If you raise $100 you will receive a NBCF cap and at $200 a NBCF active wear singlet.
Your entry includes a $5 donation to the NBCF as well as the potential to donate a further $10 to the NBCF by making matching pairs (up to 20 runs at 50c per runner for a pair = $1 per pair or $10 per runner), as well as our PAIRS wristband (for the first 200 entrants) and postage.
If you make 20 or more PAIRs during the month you will go into our prize money draw. Prize money will be announced once registrations close.
**If PAIR’ing in person, entrants should understand the potential risk involved that may be associated with meeting new people online. The wristband will be provided and should be worn to show that the runners are participants in this challenge, however the entrants must accept any personal risk involved. We will create a new private closed group for this challenge with only registered entrants**
