This October we are tackling “My Marathon” which is an initiative by the Heart Foundation raising money for lifesaving heart disease research but we have put our own Mum Runner spin on it.
Not only do we want you to complete a marathon over the course of October, but we want you to do it in 4.2 days which is 100 hours (100.8hrs if you want to be precise!). How you choose to do this is up to you. You could evenly split the distance and run or walk 10.55km a day, or you could do a longer run and some shorter runs, or tackle the entire lot in one run if you choose.
We are also providing a pairs option and you can cover the 42.2ks between the two of you within those 100 hours but it must be the same timeframe.
Which method you select is up to you but you must complete the entire 42.2kms within the 4.2 days time frame.
You can start any day of the month. If you make an attempt to start but then don’t manage it for some reason, you can start again.
Proof can be shown on Strava, or via your own running watch or app by email or in our Monthly Running Challenges group on Facebook.
Please be aware it is free to register for the Heart Foundation’s My Marathon challenge, however if you want to take on the extra Mum Runner challenge then you will need to register. All registrants will receive our 42.2ks in 4.2 days medal. We encourage you to join our Mum Runner team on the My Marathon website and do your own fundraising. Of course there is no obligation to do so. $10 from each entry will be donated to the Heart Foundation via our fundraising page. Our goal is to reach $2000.
